Following values instilled in her since childhood, Krista Parnin has devoted her life to faithfully serve God wherever, and whenever, He calls. As a result, her life experiences have taken her to surprising places and followed diverse career paths. Although unexpected at times to her and seemingly unrelated to others, Krista’s faith journey has progressed as the Creator intended.
Initially out of college, Krista married her husband, Tom, and worked as an accountant for a manufacturing company. Only two years in the business world, she heard God calling her to transition into the field of education where she worked for almost 20 years as a third-grade teacher.
As she progressed in her teaching career, Krista earned a Master of Science degree in special education. She also worked with Harvard University for a couple of years on a research study, examining best teaching practices for math instruction.
In addition to her faith, Krista values family and diversity. For this reason, she traveled with Tom on two separate occasions to the Philippines where they adopted their sons. In addition, she published a children’s book, The Unsuspecting Hero, inspired by the life of her younger sister, Becky, who was born with spina bifida.
Her children’s book would not turn out to be her only foray into writing. God had other plans. Now, she shares the power of faith through her faith-based website, The Better by Faith Blog.
Currently, Krista lives with Tom in the southern part of the United States. In addition to writing, she leads a women’s Bible study in her church. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and hearing from/sharing faith journeys with readers from around the world.
